Britt Lombardo

Date of Death:
Tuesday, April 25, 2023

Britt Lombardo, 78, wife of the late James P. Lombardo, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023.

Born in 1944, in Norway, Britt immigrated to America in 1954.  She helped her family learn a new language and the American ways.  Britt graduated from Kelvyn Park High School and went to work in the office of Johnson Ford, where she met the love of her life, Jim.  One year after they married, they welcomed their first daughter, Lisa, and moved into their forever home in Palatine, IL.  A few years later they welcomed their second daughter, Andrea, and the family was complete.

Britt was always the neighborhood go-to-person, and easily made friends wherever she went.  She had the most amazing sense of humor, and infectious laugh and a sparkle to her eyes, she was always up for a good laugh or prank.  She loved hard and always let those she cared about know that.  Britt will be greatly missed by her dear friends, and even more so by her closest loved ones.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Griesser and Andrea Lombardo (Tony Nicosia).  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Philip, Julie, Megan and Timothy Griesser, and her sweet granddog Claire.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lydia Home Association, 4300 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL  60641.

Britt and l have been friends since the 60's. A friend that l will treasure forever. Our happy times will far surpass the sad ones but Britt was also there when l needed her. I may not be able to come to the service on Thursday as l am not able to drive a far distance but thank you Andrea for everything you have done for your Mom.
