born January 8, 1938 in Cass City,Michigan, second child of EdwardJames and Beatrice Sarah (Litt) Dillon. He spent most of his youth growing up near the Dillon Family homestead in the Hamletof Colwood and graduated from Cass City HS in 1957. Russ movedto the Chicago area as a young man, settling in DesPlaines,where he married and raised a family. He proudly worked asa heavy machine operator for 46 years, and was a member of Local Union 150. His hobbies were oil painting and carving, and he loved spending his retirement at his camper in Seneca. Proud father of Tamara (Sam) Romano of Schaumburg, Tina Huber of South Elgin, and Tanya (Dan) Italia of Roselle. Brother of Deborah (Joel Berkowitz) Bohan of Asheville, NC. Loving partner of Nancy Brocar of DesPlaines. Grandfather of Shelli and Adam Layton, Korinne, Kailey, Kloey, Kassidy, and Kamryn Huber, Angelina and Isabella Italia. Loving "Uncle Sonny" to 2 nephews and 7 nieces, 17 great and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, brothers (Edward, Donald, Ronald) niece Lori (Dillon)Gruber, and nephew Derek Dillon. Will be missed by all at Korner House in Elk Grove, Paps in Mt Prospect, T-Woods in Wood Dale, and Boon Docks in Seneca. Inviting family and friends to celebrate his life September 30,2012 at Korner House 2736 W Higgins in ElkGrove Village from 1 - 5 pm and/or October 6, 2012 at Boon Docks 1 East Dupont Rd in Seneca from 12 - 3 pm. In honor of his 3 year old granddaughter, Isabella, any memorial donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund www.jdrf.org.
