Nee Schmitt. Of Chicago, IL, Sebring, FL, and Pittsburgh, PA, was born to eternal life on February 1, 2011, at age 97 at St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born in Granite City, IL, she was the youngest daughter of the late George Schmitt and Eugenia Becker Schmitt and the much loved sister of the late William, George, Peter, Felix, Charles, Mary, Caroline, Agnes, Philomena, and Sister Eugenia Marie, OSU. She was the beloved wife of the late C. John Chambers, Esq. of Chicago and the mother of Connor J. Chambers, Parrish, FL; Jeanne Stoner (William), Bethel Park, PA; Marguerite “Meg” Gottschalk (John), Chicago, IL; Mary Beth Carroll (Charles), Fairlawn, OH; the late Peter Damian Chambers of Good Shepherd Manor, Momence, IL; and the late Anne Gerard Chambers, of Chicago, IL. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Mary Grace Stoner, Bethel Park, PA; Lisa M. Gottschalk (Ivan Lefton), Chicago, IL; John Charles Stoner (Anupama Jain), Bethel Park, PA; Michael Gottschalk (Sarah), Los Angeles, CA; Dr. Sarah Smith (Mark), Lutz, FL; Betsy Carroll (Jeff Cooper), Los Angeles, CA; Caroline Gottschalk Druschke (James), Iowa City, IA; David Stoner (Julie), Mt. Lebanon, PA; and Anne Harvey (Paul), Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
