Gregory P. Yocherer

Gregory P. Yocherer passed away on December 16, 2015, after an 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Greg was born June 17, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Josephine (Pechoc) Yocherer. He attended Evergreen Park High School and Michigan State University and continued his education at Northwestern University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in History, after serving his country in the U.S. Army as a medic. Greg worked as a consultant but his passion was always history. In 2002 he realized his dream and became an author when he published Two Flags in the Wilderness, a work of historical fiction.
He is survived by his brother Bruce, daughter Michelle Yocherer Swenson, her spouse Robert, grandchildren Will and Mia Swenson, as well as his partner Rona Ganji. Visitation on Tuesday 10A.M. until time of service at noon at Rago Brothers Funeral Home, 7751 W. Irving Park Road in Chicago, IL. Interment Bohemian National Cemetery.
