Jean Helen Allen, 94, died peacefully at her senior-living apartment on Jan. 15, 2021.
Beloved wife of Edward (deceased), mother of William (Karen), Collette (Larry), John (Gina), grandmother of Nicole (Wade), great-grandmother of Ethan, Noah, Mason, sister of Jack (deceased) and Judy (Earl), aunt of Kim, Cindy, Jeff, David.

Very good natured yet independent, Jean was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio. Her first job was at JCPenneys, which she left to move to Coldwater, MI then Jackson, MI where she worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company for nearly 25 years. Always great working with numbers, she moved to Chicago, IL to work in the family property management business and volunteered at St. Paul's Church-by-the-Lake, baking delicious desserts for the Episcopal Church Women's Group bake sales.

Upon retirement, she enjoyed living in Evanston, IL and Grayslake, IL.
Over the years, she enjoyed vacations in northern Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Naples, Florida where she and her daughter simultaneously witnessed the "green flash" at sunset. She loved her cats, her family, margaritas, her favorite Mexican restaurants, reading Agatha Christie mystery novels, Elvis' music, and keeping in touch with her childhood friend, Norma.

A private burial at St. Paul's Church by-the-Lake's Resurrection Garden (next to her husband) is planned for a future date.

There is no visitation planned . Private burial will be held at at future date.
