
Maria “Cuca” Heredia
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria “Cuca” Heredia, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and Nani, beloved Aunt and friend to many. Maria passed away on March 8, 2026 at the age of 92.
Born July 15, 1933, raised in Crystal City, Texas. She was the second youngest child to the late Juan and Margarita Hernandez. From a young age she embodied the strength and nurturing spirit of family values. She was a hard worker from the age of 12, working in the farm fields. She was married at the age of 17 and continued working for many years as she raised her family.
For 32 wonderful years, she was a devoted wife to her late husband Jesus “Jesse” Heredia. Their partnership was a testament to an unwavering commitment of love, and a source of strength and inspiration for their family.
Maria dedicated her life to her family. She poured her heart into creating a warm and loving home, filled with laughter, home cooked meals, and long-lasting memories. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family were the light of her life.
She was the devoted and beloved mother of Jesus Jr "Jesse" (Liz), Joe (Sharon), Rick (Bonnie), Sandy (Greg), Linda (Cass) and the late Rosemary Lara Carnahan.

Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Maria will be remembered for her dedication to the catholic faith and her gentle kindness. Maria’s legacy of love, compassion, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
