It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark G. Capaccio, who died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mark was a self-made man in every sense of the word. A tireless worker and devoted craftsman, he built a life through persistence, creativity, and grit—working rain or shine, always moving, always building.

He was never one to sit still. Whether with a hammer, a welding torch, or his bare hands, Mark was always creating something from nothing. Known for his easygoing and warm nature, Mark had a natural gift for connecting with people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and truly enjoyed doing so—especially about things that mattered: family, life, work, or just the beauty of something well made.

Even in difficult times, he rarely showed outward signs of worry. He had a calm strength about him—an ability to focus only on what he could control, and to let go of the rest.

Mark also expressed himself through art, designing striking and original works using the very materials he worked with as a construction contractor—stone, steel, ceramic, and glass. His work was a reflection of his soul: grounded, bold, and quietly expressive.

A math whiz in his youth, Mark earned straight A’s in algebra, and brought that same sense of precision and logic into every aspect of his work. But he was just as playful as he was practical. Whether it was football in the yard or a spontaneous game of catch, Mark was easy to play with—and easy to be around.

Mark leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and creativity. He touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.

In honoring Mark’s memory, we celebrate not just the man he was—but the example he set: to keep moving forward, to create with heart and hands, and to face life with a smile.

Mark is survived by brothers Anthony (wife Bonnie Rollins), Ross Capaccio and brother Joseph Capaccio.

Rest easy, Mark. You’ve earned it.
