Jose Manuel Villalba

Date of Death:
Thursday, August 12, 2021

Jose Manuel (Joe) Villalba, 75, passed away on August 12, 2021. Loyal husband of 48 years to Consuelo (Connie) and loving father to his children, Jorge and Marisa Villalba.

Dear brother to Olympia, Carmen and Maruja who reside in Spain and Switzerland.

Jose was a native of La Coruna Spain where he served in the Spanish Navy. In his early 20’s he relocated from Spain to the north side of Chicago where he made a life for himself.

Jose studied the English language, the culture of his new country, and worked hard. Jose met and fell in love with Connie in 1972, and they got married on January 27, 1973 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Chicago.

Jose and Connie grew their family with the arrival of their first child, Jorge and later their daughter Marisa. In the 80’s the opportunity arose for Jose to become a stay at home father while working for himself. This allowed him to dedicate more time to the two things he loved most, his family and home.

Jose had compassion and a deep love for all animals. He loved nature, reading and world politics. Jose is a cancer survivor who loved his friends and neighbors. Friends would often describe Jose as a generous, kindhearted, and selfless person.
